Discovering Self Through Sound

  • 68 Kentucky Drive Asheville, NC, 28806 United States (map)

Join us for a 6-week transformational journey as we allow music, movement, art, poetry, and sound to guide us deeply into ourSelves, opening pathways for new understanding and growth.

Each of these creative modalities offers a unique access point for understanding our inner worlds. We will use the expressive arts as metaphor, as a way to move energy, as a unifying force, and as spiritual practice. When we layer these modalities together with presence and intention, it allows for a rich and dynamic exploratory process. Within the context of a non-judgmental therapeutic container, these new awarenesses and understandings have space to be held, witnessed, and integrated into your being.

Welcome home the parts of you that have been abandoned, shamed, criticized, and unloved. Get to know them, hold them, hear them, understand their worlds. Allow them to express themselves in a variety of creative ways, bringing them into presence and love.

In each session, participants will be guided through several creative experiences designed to bring awareness to unique aspects of of ourselves. For example, we may begin with a group check in, followed by a guided meditation, leading into authentic movement elaborating the theme of the meditation. We may then spend time writing poetry in our journals and go right into a music experience using the poetry. We will always end with a group sharing/ processing experience.
