Sing For The Trees! Save The UNCA Woods

UNC Asheville’s 45-acre urban forest has been a cherished community resource and wildlife habitat for decades. It’s now under threat of development, despite its status as one of the last remaining urban forests in Asheville.

There are a variety of actions you can take to help save the woods. Check out saveuncawoods.org for more information on how to get involved

Sunday, April 13th, we will gather at 3 pm sharp to sing for (and to) The Trees! This will be a space to be share in deep reverence for the forest, to feel what’s in alive in our hearts, to honor and praise the wild through song as well as to learn about the forest, what’s going on there, and actions we can take to help protect this special place.

Seasoned song leaders, Lillie Lumina and Samara Jade, will guide the group in singing a variety of nature-based songs. The songs are easy to learn and sing along, with phrases that repeat many times, like mantras for the mamma .

Meet at the entrance to the woods on Vivian Ave (follow the sign).
Park along Vivian and Dortch Ave.

All voices welcome!
Free of charge
